Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using Apex Legal, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

These terms apply to all users of Apex Legal — solo lawyers, law firm partners, associates, and any other legal professionals using the platform.

What Apex Legal Is

Apex Legal is an AI-powered practice management tool that connects to your email account (Gmail or Microsoft Outlook) and uses artificial intelligence to extract intelligence about your legal matters, deadlines, promises, and client communications.

Apex Legal is a productivity tool, not legal advice. The AI-generated summaries, matter intelligence, and priority suggestions are tools to help you manage your practice. They are not legal opinions, legal advice, or a substitute for your own professional judgment.

Your Account

• ✅ You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• ✅ You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• ✅ One account per person. You may not share your account with others.
• ⚠️ You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

Email Access and Permissions

When you connect your Gmail or Microsoft Outlook account, you grant Apex Legal read-only access to your emails for the purpose of generating practice intelligence. Apex Legal does not send emails on your behalf and does not modify, delete, or move your emails.

You can revoke this access at any time — from inside Apex Legal or directly from your Google or Microsoft account security settings. Revoking access immediately stops Apex Legal from reading new emails.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Apex Legal only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• 🚫 Use Apex Legal to process emails that you do not have the right to access
• 🚫 Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or replicate the Apex Legal platform
• 🚫 Use the service in a way that violates any applicable law or professional regulation
• 🚫 Share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorised access to your account

Your Data and Ownership

You own your data. Apex Legal does not claim any rights over your emails, client information, matter details, or any other content you create or process through the platform.

The intelligence extracted from your emails — matters, promises, deadlines — is stored locally in your browser. It is yours. When you stop using Apex Legal, that data remains under your control and can be cleared by you at any time.

AI-Generated Intelligence

Apex Legal uses artificial intelligence to analyse your emails and generate practice intelligence. This AI is powerful but not infallible.

You should always verify AI-generated summaries, deadlines, and priorities against the original source before acting on them. Apex Legal is a tool to support your judgment — not to replace it. You remain responsible for all professional decisions made in connection with your practice.

Apex Legal is not liable for errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in AI-generated content, or for any professional consequences arising from reliance on such content without verification.

Service Availability

Apex Legal is currently in an early access phase. We aim to keep the service available at all times but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or temporarily suspend the service for maintenance or improvements.

We will give reasonable notice of any significant changes that affect your use of the service.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Apex Legal and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or professional liability.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of Apex Legal shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Apex Legal shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you inside the app before the changes take effect. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version.

Continued use of Apex Legal after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
